In India, masks have become especially important now. The staggered unlock phase has started; parents and kids are taking steps back to normal life. The virus transmission, however, continues unabated. Backyard barbecues, outdoor exercise, and recreational sports returned, but with one big change this year: Face masks are still necessary to keep COVID-19 at bay. They are emerging as one of the most powerful weapons to fight the new coronavirus, with growing evidence that facial coverings help prevent transmission - even if an infected wearer is in close contact with others.
Overwhelming scientific and medical evidence has shown and increasingly proves that masks make a very big difference, maybe the most difference of anything we can do as members of the public in fighting this pandemic. Nonetheless, there are mask deniers, including believers in unsupported conspiracies or those who are generally anti-science and/or anti-facts. But regardless of your personal opinion on masks, more and more cities, states, municipalities, retailers, airlines, attractions, and other businesses are requiring them, and this shows no signs of slowing amidst day after day of record-breaking infections and deaths. Mask wearing is likely to become more mandated, so if you have to wear one, even if you don’t want to, you might as well be as comfortable and protected as possible.
Like many people, when this all started back in March we expected a short term blip in our lives, and I got a few disposable paper masks. At the time, advice and designs for cutting old t-shirts and pillowcases into DIY masks proliferated on the internet, and many of us went the homemade route. But as it becomes increasingly clear that masks would be with us far longer and more broadly than anyone hoped, and would become increasingly required to shop or fly, people started buying more and more different models and trying them out in search of the perfect mask.
As a team of responsible citizens of India, we had to contribute towards society for a special cause.
With this pandemic and keeping in mind the arising needs for masks, we thought to make masks that will also make the world a better place by promoting the most sustainable plant on earth. So we came out with our ‘Cannspirator- Total Protection Ultimate Solution’. It is a certified mask that has gone through rigorous TESTs to prove to be the best in the market.
Cannspirator-HN-95 Hemp Respirator Mask
CANNSPIRATOR reaches out to the world with a vision that aims for achieving safety without compromising on its need for superior quality. With their new hemp-based mask, they want to make the fight against COVID-19 a smoother, much safer experience.
We couldn’t bring ourselves to put plastic or PVC masks against our nose and skin. Even cotton masks likely contain GMO, pesticide, and formaldehyde in them, not stuff you’d want to breathe into your lungs all day. So we created these hemp face masks. Reusable and easy-to-wash, CANNSPIRATOR's hemp masks are free from dyes, bleaches, GMO's and chemicals such as PFAS.
Unlike the suffocating petroleum-derived microfiber face masks, those are saturated with chemicals and outgas directly into your lungs, CANNSPIRATOR's natural anti-bacterial hemp masks cover you from all sorts of foreign particles and provide a fresh breathing experience.
Apart from being hypoallergenic and filtering the air you breathe with its hemp fibre's hollow cores, the mask also ionises the air you inhale to help in boosting your lungs' cell metabolism and immunity.

While most homemade fabric masks are simple rectangles. As a hemp mask manufacturer, we have carefully studied the emerging needs of Indians. The biggest feature people have found in our masks is true full-face coverage that encapsulates the nose as well as the mouth, with some sort of shaped or molded three-dimensional nose pocket and an adjustable nosepiece. Even the disposable paper masks doctors’ use has this in the form of a bendable metal band, and a precise fit around the nose is key to a tight protective seal, and also more comfortable - especially if you wear glasses. The larger surface area gives our hemp face masks greater capacity to trap and absorb microbes and particulates. All our masks can easily fit into a small bag or a trouser pocket.
Reusable face mask from hemp fiber – High- grade protection against viruses and air-pollution
What we know for sure as of now is that Covid-19 spreads through the droplets that emerge from our mouth and nose when we speak, cough, or sneeze. If you are in close proximity to an infected person, you have a high chance of catching the virus. Police personnel, paramedical personnel, municipal health workers, etc. can considerably reduce their vulnerability. These are useful for densely populated areas where physical distancing may not be possible.
Face masks prevent your mouth and nose from being in contact with infected objects and dirty hands. Besides, a mouth mask ensures polluted air with virus-particles and fine dust is filtered before it is inhaled. More importantly, the use of a mouth mask prevents others from being infected with transmittable diseases, even if you don’t know you’re infected!
Why you should choose a reusable over disposable mask?
Environmentalists plead all to stop using disposable face masks as many used masks end up in the ocean, and once they get into the ocean and break into smaller pieces and become micro-plastics, it is impossible to clean them up. Therefore, people are encouraged to pick reusable face masks instead. The reusable face mask is becoming a popular option and here are the reasons why. If you’re only using your mask outside of medical settings, opt for a HEMP cotton mask. Not only is using a reusable mask a more eco-friendly option, but it’s also cheaper in the long run (assuming we have to keep wearing masks in the long run, which, unfortunately, we probably will).
They are of better quality
Single-use disposable face masks are not made to last. They can be flimsy and uncomfortable. Face masks made of hemp fabric are face masks in much better quality, and they can effectively improve the quality of the air you breathe. Wearing a face mask doesn’t have to be a suffocating experience.
They are washable
Reusable hemp cotton face masks can be washed and reused for a long time. You can just chuck them in the washing machine and wash them in the delicate mode, they will last for quite a while and you can make sure they are as hygienic as possible.
They make a cheaper alternative
Single-use disposable face masks might be cheaper by piece, but a reusable cotton face mask can save you a fortune in the long run. You will also help in reducing the cost of disposing of disposable face masks. It is a win for all.
They are sustainable
They are eco-friendly
The environmental damage of plastics waste in the ocean is on the rise as the usage of disposable face masks rises. Choosing a reusable hemp cotton face mask is choosing to make a contribution towards protecting ocean life.

Why Hemp fabric?
Hemp has the unique characteristic of being able to cleanse and purify the ground it grows in. And it needs only a little water and fertilizers to grow into a usable plant. A process that is much slower with other resources as trees for paper or cotton for clothing. By using more hemp in production, fossil fuels are spared and deforestation of jungles becomes unnecessary.
We will give you more reasons why hemp fabric is the best while considering mask quality.
· Hemp has fourfold the strength of cotton; it won't weaken when washed instead it becomes softer with each wear.
· You will be more likely to wear your mask if it is super comfortable and not causing abrasion to your delicate facial skin.
· Hemp fibre is antimicrobial, naturally resistant to mold, and mildew.
· Hemp fabric is odor resistant.
· It has anti-bacterial characteristics and helps absorbs moisture away from the body without holding on to it. It is good for hot and cold seasons.
· Hemp fabric is breathable and moisture-wicking. Hemp also features a porous personality that permits it to breathe, keeping you cool within the summer.
· Hemp fabric is biodegradable. Imagine the amount of waste that will be produced from the disposal of these masks worldwide? Disposable face masks are made from a synthetic material that is not biodegradable.
The natural medicinal properties of hemp fabric make these masks safer than ordinary cloth or synthetic masks. We focus on how to live a more eco-friendly life, reduce single-use plastics, and trash.
Cleaning your Hemp mask
Soak your hemp mask for 30 minutes or more in detergent water, rinse and wash. However, if you want additional disinfection, boil some water and soak the mask in it for 30 seconds. Then repeat the above process. Avoid high dry heat like electric dryers.
Always sanitize your hands before putting on your mask and after removing it.
Know Who Makes Your Hemp Masks
Such pandemics demand for organisations to come together and help the world so we at Himalayan Hemp launched these Hemp N95 masks in a joint venture with Awega Green Technologies LLP and Small Spark Concepts Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Team of these 3 companies invented WORLD’s 1st Hemp respiratory masks. We have recently come up with 100% Hemp packaging. Now, our Cannspirator HN95 mask comes with Hemp paper boxes. We are also focusing on job creation for the most marginalised sections of society. These masks are manufactured by women migrant workers who have lost their jobs amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis. We want to change this problem into an opportunity for these people. We travelled to dozens of areas to train these great women in their traditional craft of weaving, sewing, and providing jobs and above all an identity. We believe that women are like the roots of the tress, if you empower a woman she will empower an entire community around her. So, we have created a value chain and involved many women and small tailors in Meerut and Saharanpur districts of Uttar Pradesh, Kutch district of Gujarat, and Pune, Maharashtra.
